Murderer.

Guy killed 2 people in a rage. No self-defense bullshit or post apocolypse "There are no laws anymore" stuff. Just flat out killed his wife and wife's lover for cheating on him.

But he's beloved as a character and so likable. So no one even really brings it up.

Thinking about it's super rare for games or movies to do this. Even Heavy Rain went to absurd lengths to try to protect Ethan's image.

What others are there?

Guys like Kratos aren't even attempted to be demonstrated as likable human beings.

I'd say several reasons:

A) it happens offscreen
B) being cheated on sucks-- not saying it excuses murder, but it makes him more sympathetic than a lot of murderers
C) his entire story is about protecting a little girl, and protecting children always makes you look heroic

I mean, yeah, quite easily. All his reasons are sympathetic, and he's nothing but great to everyone he gets involved with, unless they get up to some shit.

Exactly but it's rare for a game to characterize someone like that who killed 2 people.

Only other game I can think of is

James Sunderland in SIlent Hill 2. And even then the canon ending is that he killed himself out of grief.

Red from The Shawshank Redemption did the exact same thing.

Red didnt kill his wife and lover, Andy was convicted of that but was innocent.
