Well one example is that Emperor Theodosius who lived in the mid 300s had recorded descendants until after Justinian who lived 200 years later. One thing I thought was cool was that a lot of early Frankish monarchs like the Merovingians have relations to Gallo-Roman officers and politicians in the 300s and 400s.
