26 y/o Bonehead River Rosenquist was the Florida Zoo Keeper who put his hand inside a rare Malayan tiger's cage at a Naples Zoo, causing police officers to shoot it dead because they had no tranqs on hand!!

His mugshot from 2015 was released as neighbors described him as a "troubled" man

He was rushed to hospital with serious injuries to his arm when he entered the unauthorized area near the enclosure at Caribbean Gardens after hours when he tried to pet the 8 year old big cat named Eko

The tiger then grabbed onto his arm causing him to scream and called for help. When police arrived, it caused one of the officers to shoot it in the neck causing it to release his mangled arm but killing the endangered animal.

Naples Zoo President and CEO Jack Mulvena said early in the morning that the highly endangered tiger died of internal bleeding but a necropsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death

He said it was a bad mistake, bad decision but only wish the man well in his recovery

Rosenquist worked for a 3rd party cleaning service, HMI Commercial cleaning who was arrested for driving with a suspended license when he was 19. He lost his mother in 2012 and has a brother and father whom he lived with

The Sheriff's office said they would determine whether charges will be filed but did not say what it would be

Mulvena hasn't said if he would file charges as well and said they are grieving now with the loss of Eko who was a member of their family

According to report, Rosenquist was supposed to be cleaning the zoo's bathrooms and gift shop when he made his way to a malayan tiger exhibit after breaching a barrier fence as they don't know why he was doing that

A security guard witnessed the attack but he did not have a tranq gun and though the zoo has a team with those weapons, they are only there during business hours

HMI cleaners has been suspended pending an investigation although Mulvena said the company has been doing great with them with no priors

Outrage over the death of yet another endangered animal has public outcry over keeping animals at zoos when they should be in their native homelands

I agree that the tigers should be in their native homelands but then they will just be killed for Chinese witchdoctor mumbo jumbo. Poachers will do anything-- killing anything and anybody in their way for the amount of money on the black market tigers go for.

If you don't have the proper equipment on hand, maybe you shouldn't own a zoo.

It was police responding though. I dont believe there was any staff there. A security guard. I doubt they arm security guards with tranquilizers

I don't understand why a zoo wouldn't have like 24/7 people to deal with issues with animals, especially with critically endangered animals.
