I honestly think Brian May turns everything related to Freddie Mercury to dirt for the sake of filthy lucre, like when he re-released Don't Stop Me Now where he plays guitar over the entire song. The reason there's any guitar in the original is because they needed to fill space between the last two choruses, and he gave them a solo despite not wanting to play on the song at all.
