Hes a defensive great player, and can also create shots for his teammates, but he has always had the reputation of being someone who is afraid to take shots of his own. It came to a head in the playoffs last year, when someone passed him the ball right under the rim for an open dunk (in a crucial spot), and he passed the ball back out to someone else. Some of his teammates and his fans have lost a lot of faith in him as a result, so for all intensive purposes, he stopped showing up to practices and games before the season started. Then when the 76ers threatened to fine him for it, he would show up with a bad attitude and be very lackadaisical in practices. Which then led to him getting suspended by the 76ers. - Ben tried to use poor mental health as a reason for the way he had been acting but also refused to see the team doctors/psychiatrists that were assigned to help him. I'm sure there's other stuff I missed, but basically he's doing everything he can to get the 76ers to trade him, which the 76ers haven't done because they've been asking for way too much from other teams (all while Ben's trade value has been free-falling as a result of this whole saga). The fines are a result of him not playing in games and not having a valid excuse for missing those games since he's rejected pretty much all of the 76ers attempts to help him. ...
