I took my order, but they literally had Eight (8) people there before they shut down.

I'm gonna take a guess and say that's when they get the most food delivery service requests. They're probably so overloaded with those in that timeframe that they can't handle in person orders.

Staffing and supply shortages too. I'm in the hotel industry and it's been super hard the past year just to order towels.

right here. Work at jimmy johns, between high delivery orders and low staff we have to close the lobby at various points in the day so that we can keep things manageable. 3 people just cant keep up with lunch/dinner rush.

The local Dairy Queen doesn't even open their lobby half the time. So many times I walk up and see the "Understaffed, drive-thru only" sign.

Minimum wage is just an arbitrary and generally meaningless price floor.
The de facto minimum wage is the least you can pay and still get someone to show up. When the arbitrary price floor is greater than that, that job is either not "needed" anymore, gets added to someone else's job-duties, or is outsourced when possible.
