This will essentially be the new Note series. I've still got my Galaxy Note 10+ from 3 years ago. I chose to not get the 5G version back then because Verizon still hadn't built out their 5G network much back then, but it should be better now.

From what I'm seeing, it looks like preorders will start on February 9th and then the release will be on February 25th, assuming they don't experience more supply chain setbacks.

Are they paired with Wacom for the stylus or did they decide to try and make their own one?

I simply don't give a shit about pictures enough to ever justify getting an ultra version of any Samsung offering.

I'll stick with my S10+ another year most likely.

Cool, thanks. I'm on a Note9 and going to have to eventually upgrade but the stylus was the main selling point so I was sad to hear that the note series was being retired.

Yeah, same. I was likely going to upgrade this year, but then they said they weren't making a Note phone, lol. I didn't feel like the The Note 20 was enough of an upgrade.

So it's finally been officially announced? I've been eying rumors for a while, but haven't checked since last week before my trip to visit Austin for family. I still have the S10+, and earlier this year, I was mostly undecided but leaning towards not upgrading. Now I for sure want to upgrade just to have something newer. I'll be getting the S22+ though.

I think the official announcement is still yet to come, but there are a lot of leaks that are generally agreeing on the details of the design of the cameras, screen size, and other things.

Crazy how phones try so hard to mimic camera tech that is basically a decade old at this point lol I need to upgrade so I might as well get this one. Bummer that sd cards are basically out of the question.

I could maybe understand on their "active" models that are rated to survive being dropped into the bottom of a pool, but the only other reason I can think of is greed. Look at how much more phone companies charge between their base model and their expanded memory model versus the cost of a microSD card. It's painfully obvious how badly you're being ripped off, especially since the base models never have as much storage as they should.

Hell, Apple takes it a step further and has a third tier of phone with even more storage that they discontinue when a new model comes out. So the latest iPhone might have a 256 GB model and then when the next version comes out they stop selling that model and only sell the 128.

I'll keep my Note 20 Ultra which still feels brand new to me. I don't feel like I'm missing anything as there were flagships released this year that don't do what this Note does.

Also, I'm a little bitter that they've retired the "Note" branding. The S22 Ultra from the leaks is styled like a Note, but dammit just call it that.

It should be S22, S22 Plus and Note 22.

My guess is they don't want to commit to the Note name which would bring about the expectation that the Note is back and would be expected every generation.

As far as I'm concerned, the S Ultra line should have never existed when you already have the Note. They could've kept it the same as they did in 2017-2019 with the S, S Plus, then the Note of those respective years. Seemed simple to me.

Then they could just move the Note reveal from August to the Spring alongside the S line and the Fold line would get the August show.
