Believe it or not, my wife and I are just getting to watch The Sopranos NOW (yeah I know, like 20 years too late). We're almost done at the end of S6.

It's such a great show but I gotta' say it's nuts how many loose ends there are- like they'll do entire episodes about something and then never return to it. The dr's rape, and the one that this topic reminded me of where Paulie and Chris lose that Russian guy in the frozen woods and you never find out if he got away or not.

Im only in season 4 now but theres only a couple loose ends so far.

i was actually expecting a lot more random shit than it gives us. Sometimes theyll show random brand new characters get whacked, or a husband and wife fighting and Ill be like who the hell is this?! And then itll come back around by the end of the episode.

Dr Melfis rape is probably the most confusing and pointless one so far though. I dont know what the writers were thinking even by the end of that episode, it almost felt like they regretted including it in the first place

but I do understand that a lot of the show is basically about nothing, kinda like Seinfeld or Pulp Fiction. Its just about people sitting around and talking about their daily lives. There isnt an actual plot. So Im expecting some stuff to be left open

You're telling me, that ending was TERRIBLE. We were so mad haha. Tony coulda' had that guy whacked but NOOOOOO.

That and when the T-1000 guy owed shitloads of money to Tony and then he was going to Vegas or something and he's never heard from again. There's lots of those moments throughout the series.

I always thought that Melfi storyline was just a way for her to have some character development re: her inner conflict for treating a violent criminal.
