I disliked the first two movies in the series cause they felt more like Iron Boy movies, but this one was excellent and felt really true to the Spider-man character. He finally stops being handed everything, is completely separated from Iron man and mans up and takes responsibility without sniveling and whining.

Subverting what we know and can expect about the origin story was top notch stuff tbh. I didn't like the other ones for the reasons you listed but as a trilogy, masterful. I really need to stop doubting Feige and the MCU people. They know what they're doing with these big movies.

It was good.

I mean once you realize the entire plot is just old Raimi films and Amazing Spider Man being rehashed you realize it's kinda a really lazy movie.

But they were clever with it, and it was fun. So...yeah.

I'd say it's not the best Spiderman movie featuring Maguire. Nor is it the best Spiderman movie featuring Garfield. Nor is it the best Spiderman move featuring Holland.

Maby as a movie. As a Spider-man story NWH got the Spider-man character right. Tom Holland staked his claim as the best spidey by making the hard choice to save as many people as possible, and ending up sacrificing (nearly) everything.

2 >= NWH > 1 = FFH > 3 = ASM2 = Homecoming > ASM1

ASM2 has a ton of problems but is still a lot better than its given credit for. The part where Harry and Electro are tag teaming is absolutely top notch.

3 is a great absurdist comedy with some surprisingly poignant moments

ASM1 is just very boring and the Lizard is bad

2 > NWH > 1 > FFH > HC > 3 >> ASM >>> ASM2

It's up there, but I think Spiderverse did it better. This movie absolutely did the fanservice the best though.
