And I know contrarians are gonna defend it like they do TLJ.

I think this will be different than The Last Jedi, Resurrections didnt shit all over established lore and characters, its just not a well executed movie.

Some people enjoyed it, some people didn't. Not everyone who disagrees with you is a contrarian.

I disliked TLJ, but I understand why many people enjoyed it. I enjoyed Resurrections, but I recognize the flaws that I'm looking past. Both movies deconstruct the films which came before them. The difference for me is that TLJ discarded TFA, while Resurrections pokes fun at the Matrix trilogy but ultimately says "all of it mattered."

it kinda did with Morpheus and Smith, not to mention Trinity suddenly having powers and apparently them being together made the other stronger, something that never happened in the OG trilogy

Bullet time also makes no sense in universe, its explained in the first movie he was simply moving at the speed an Agent does, the whole bullet time thing was simply for the viewer

Neo has lost all of his powers too, considering in Revoluitions they extended to the real world

What does Matrix resurrections have to do with a TLJ other than having a female leader who reprimands people?

Morpheus died in the matrix online so it had to keep lore. Smith is unexplained tho

I don't see the comparison at all. I was actually thinking how different this movie is from most soft reboot crap. They didn't bring back the old cast just to make them look pathetic, with obligatory "passing the baton" to the new cast nobody cares about.

Not to say it's a perfect movie. I think it's about a 7 overall but it's at least respectful.

I didnt know it adapted the game lore, nor have I played the game. Even then, there was no reason to have diet Morpheus as a program. It could have been a new character and had the same impact on the story.

The Neo and Trinity love story was one of the weakest parts of the OG trilogy so I'm not sure why the entire story revolved around that. It was a movie full of ideas that went nowhere.

Is this confirmed anywhere? The movie takes place 60 years later, Morpheus would have been old as shit, he could have died any number of ways, Naiobe was the only one still alive. I dont think any other plot line from the games is mentioned or has anything to do with the new movie either.

Plus I dont think Morpheus was ever denying a new machine power or denying a machine civil war in the online game

Not the way they do it in this movie, but they each resurrected the other once in the original trilogy. Thats a pretty otherworldly feat that they did together.
