Every time someone in a restaurant is being a jerk to the service person, I want to just go over and "accidentally" stumble and pour my glass of water all over their crotch so it looks like they pissed themselves.

Pretty sure you are being intentionally obtuse, but yes, purposefully throwing water on someone would technically constitute assault.

I dumped a full large cinema cup of coke on a friends crotch once.

I still feel bad about that.

To make matters worse, it was during a screening of xXx and it was during an interlude caused by the cinema reel committing melty celluloid death.

We shoulda bailed at that point to play arcade games all day.

Well, I've thought for a long time about throwing eggs at people, but I realized some people are allergic so that could go really bad potentially. But the water, the stumble, it's the perfect plan to combat dicks

I did this exact same thing at a theater to someone I didn't know, totally an actual accident. I felt horrible too. But anyway, thats why I think it has to be the perfect thing to do to someone, cause it would be difficult to prove it was actual assault

Throwing ANYTHING on someone intentionally can be considered assault. Since you dont know it would be, go ahead and turn your garden hose on a cop and see where that gets you.

THere are already 3 anecdotal stories in this topic about people pouring water on others. This one isnt so simple.

And if the cop's at my house he deserves the hose

Again, you are being intentionally obtuse. Accidental and intentional are not the same thing, nor would it be likely your friend is going to call the cops on such a thing. Just because something isnt reported doesnt make it more legal, do you think its legal to punch your friend in the nuts? Of course not, but people have been doing it forever.

In most states it would just be harassment. But yeah, still a misdemeanor if actually charged.

Obviously that's different if it's hot water.

Im guessing that would net some time.

Its technically battery if the water actually makes contact with the person, and that applies to every state. Again, it all depends on intent and the relationship between the parties and whether or not charges are pressed, but its certainly not legal in any state to do this.
