Xethuminra posted... Bye bye, HubbleWhich translates to about 100x more powerful than the Hubble. This is gonna give us so much more information about the galaxy and universe. Been hearing about it since the 00s and it's finally here. --- "Fear cuts deeper than swords." ... Copied to Clipboard!

Feels so weird that we've been building up to this for 25 years, and its operational lifetime will only be like 10 years. Unless we can find a way to refuel it. --- http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_ltnafhjcUz1qmxswbo1_500.gif ... Copied to Clipboard!

Technology has advanced exponentially and theyve been putting off this launch for so long. Its supposed to be so much more powerful than the Hubble telescope. [LFAQs-redacted-quote] Coincidentally enough, I just learned about Lagrange points just yesterday, completely independent of this launch. With that said, while I understand how L1, L4 & L5 work, L2 & L3 sorta confuse me. Such as with L2 I get that it is at a spot where the Sun & Earth exert an equal gravitational force, but how does this help keep an item in place there? I would think that the Sun & Earth are both pulling on an object in the same direction, towards both objects at once. L1 uses countering gravitational forces, but L2 does not appear that way. How does it work? https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/0/9/0/AAEqD0AACvUK.jpg --- Live action Hungry Hungry Hippos though, now that was a sport. ~Aeon Azuran ... Copied to Clipboard!

How does it work? Basically, something at L2 has to be moving quickly enough to stop itself from falling into the Sun-Earth gravity well, but once it's going at that speed, it's a stable orbit. --- http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_ltnafhjcUz1qmxswbo1_500.gif ...
