The entire John Wick franchise is successful because it's being directed by an action cinematographer. That was the unique pitch of the first movie: "What if we took the person who knows how to shoot an action scene better than anybody else and let them make an entire action movie?"

Apparently this latest matrix was a rush job in terms of filming so they had to do all the action scenes in the time it would take an actor to train up and practice for only a couple.

The movie is indeed terrible. Keanu Reeves doesn't even use any guns.

3/4 of the movie is exposition and still makes no fucking sense. And yeah, the action scenes aren't anywhere close to the original trilogy (which I just rewatched) despite all the advances since.

I thought it was okay. Lots of callbacks, good spots of humor, kind of establishes the world after Neo's heroics and I like the mains of the new cast. Also, Jessica Henwick can get it. Hope she's in more stuff going forward.

It wasnt terrible, but it wasnt good, at all. The tongue-in-cheek went way over the line and it didnt really tell us the need for a fourth film.

The nerve of that line suggesting this will be a trilogy.

I kind of loved it. If you're into the tone of it, it's a great movie, but it's not exactly the ultra-cyberpunk-trenchcoat extravaganza of the previous films. It does something a little different, but I think there's a lot to love.

It felt like a cheap Netflix movie, honestly. The action was shockingly poorly done. Trilogy felt like the best action scenes out there, top of the top, this movie's fights felt like whatever is on NBC at 8 pm on a friday.

And if you think I'm bullshitting, go back and watch the very first action scene in the first movie, Trinity beating up the swat guys. It was absolute perfection. That single scene was better than this entire movie. The Matrix movies used to be synonymous with mind bending action that pushed the envelope.

This is a valid complaint, there weren't many scenes that were like "Holy shit that's cool," but there were some parts that were pretty awesome even so.

Does this movie say who the one actually is

The action was pretty underwhelming. Felt like Neo barely actually fights and just TK pushes everyone. There was a little too much humor for my taste, I dont need it completely stuffy like Reloaded and Revolutions but this started to feel like an MCU movie at times.
