It could be? It became immediately uncool to go to high-school parties once my younger friends were out of HS, and now it's becoming increasingly uncool to be at college parties because the people keep getting younger and we're getting older lol
But everything post college doesn't matter

Depending on what you are doing with your friends, I bet I could hang with you without any issues. I can seriously get along with almost anyone.

Although I will admit that the 20 something women tend to treat me like their dad, which occasionally takes on weird sexual tones. So I know this stuff can be complicated. (It's not like that at all with my gf btw)

I'm not trying to say I would ostracize someone for being older than us, I just can't imagine a normal scenario where that age gap meets and decides to be more than just acquaintance

I feel like there's certain people that have been in Covid isolation way too long and have no idea how society works, but I do always forget this is a forum of virgins and NEETs. The way some of you talk, it's like a 24 year old is still playing with Barbie's and dreaming of being an astronaut and the 33 year old is at the life stage of sipping 100 year old wine and watching artsy French films.

"They're going to enjoy vastly different things" Bitch, no they're not, they're gonna watch Spider-Man together and play Halo and eat at restaurants like every normal person of every age.

LOL, tellum.

Maybe you will get there. I think the youngest people in my friend imagined feeling that way until they got to know us older folks.

I am not trying to rag on you btw. Just giving my experiences.

It's weird finally being on the other end. This topic landed on pretty much my exact line. Usually, Id be the one arguing why the age difference is gross. Lol.

Most real world examples aren't gross though. I only question it when you see 30 or 40 something guys purposefully going after those who are barely legal. Most of the time, it just happens.

I agree it's mostly reliant on many other factors. And that's way more consistent in people who actually end up relationships with age gaps. But, this is a place where 40 year olds post 18 year olds as soon as they cross over and asks everyone if they'd hit it. The combination sits wrong with me and it grosses me out. Makes me scared for young family members and defensive against online predators. I got teenage nieces growing up on the internet.

:/. I'm really close to my nieces. Me and the 15 year old hang out like best friends. Waiting on that day she moves on with her school friends replacing me >_<. I want that for her, but Ill definitely lose a big piece of my life. But even so, I know it's still different to actually be the dad. That's scary man. All you can do is try to put them on game and hope they use it to adapt to their surroundings in a positive and safe way. I wanna ask how old your kids are, but at the same time Id understand reasons to not be so specific on an internet forum lol.

Ha. My other niece Im close to is turning 6 soon. That's coincidental. You just got 2 more in-between. Wild. Im one of 4 myself. Other 3 are girls. They get each others backs? I been noticing that the older one really needs a break from the younger one once in awhile. Cause the little one is constantly in her space snd she's 15, so personal space has become very important to her. I think it's one the reason she enjoys it over here once in awhile. She stops being bugged, plus has someone that's completely focused on her and isn't having her sister absorb all the attention in the room.

They can fight with each other quite a bit. But they also get along pretty well a good deal of the time and certainly won't let anyone else mess with them

What Im loving about this stage is that I'm getting to share all my favorite movies with her. We watched The Thing and Snowpiercer recently lol. We also been watching Chucky movies. You really gotta pay attention to pick the one's they got a better chance of responding to. Like, she's really into co-op physiques games. So, our go tos are stuff like Humans Fall Flat and Gang Beasts. We fooled around in Just Cause 4 a lot with the grappling tools. But if I put a co-op first person shooter in or something, I can immediately tell she doesn't care lol.

The latter is what's important and the former is probably inevitable lol. I mean, as a 32 year old, if you put me in a house with my siblings right now, Id eventually start getting annoyed and start petty arguments lol. As long as there's love underneath it, it's all good. Sounds like you got a good thing going.

Oh my God this post just encapsulates the topic perfectly.

I just hit 30 but I have way more in common with people who are in their young twenties. Nowadays more and more young people play video games and anime and that's what I'm into. Women my age already are financially stable, most have a kid or two and don't even share similar interests.

My problem is exacerbated due to having autism so my mental maturity (and physical maturity) are behind. The few people in this topic that think it's creepy are to some extent have their views aligned with general society though. I can have people swear that I'm a 8 to 10 years younger than I actually am but once they hear the magic number 30 they instantly write me off as being dateable.

I am autistic and still had no problem dating younger women throughout my early 40s before starting my relationship with my gf. Younger, as in like 4 to 11 years younger, not like college age. My gf being 15 years younger is the biggest gap I have had.

So neither your age or your autism has to get in the way. The main thing is that I really worked on my social skills a lot.

Well I mean I say that but I don't mean it's a concrete roadblock, as I guess most of the women I've been with were younger than me. But for example last year I had a 19-year-old fwb. But that doesn't change the fact a lot of women have dropped interest once they heard my age.

So you can do just fine apparently. 19?!?

What I know is that it seems socially more common to see an older guy with a younger girl than the other way around.

I say that because I'm with an older woman since nearly two years and that's how we feel considering the way people look at us on the street, or the jokes our friends/family do. It seems notably harder for my GF than for me.
