23 y/o Alexis Sykes from Illinois was sentenced to a massive 10 years in the big house after she poured HOT BOILING WATER on her sleeping boyfriend on the couch and then posted it on snapchat!!

She described how her bf's skin fell off his burned arms adding he begged her to drive him to the hospital while she hid his car keys

She said on social media "I feel bad now because he got 2 & 3rd degree burns from face to waiste & they rushin him to burn centre but oh well, b****"

The man whose name is not revealed eventually found the keys and drove himself to the hospital

Sykes flew the coop to Mississippi where she was arrested and charged

She plead guilty to one count of aggravated battery by caustic substance as part of a plea deal after she posted the horrific attack on sc with a shrugging shoulder and blowing kiss emojis that said "He cried and still begged me to drive to the hospital"

He spent 2 weeks at Loyola University Medical Centre and underwent skin graft surgery

The judge said given her complete disregard to the victim and the cruelty of her actions, he sent a harsh message to her and anyone who would throw hot water on people

Sykes wil serve at least 8 and a half years before she is eligible for parole

what prosecutor deserves a punch in the mouth for giving her a plea deal? woman literally recorded her crime, that would have been a short trial.

She should be in prison for longer, and I hope bad things happen to her daily while she is locked up.

I've burned myself with the water from microwave noodles and peeled the top layer of skin from my finger. It's obviously dangerous. Just taking a shower that's too hot or boiling meat should make it obvious what hot water does to flesh.

Yes, I definitely know how dangerous boiling water can be. Back when I was 18, I made myself some stovetop ramen. The bowl I poured it in started to fall, so my natural reflex was to try and catch the falling object... noodles and boiling hot water got all over my hand. Second degree burns from that and it was on my hand for only a few seconds.

Yeah, wow, it sounds like she could have gotten a much larger sentence without that plea deal.

As far as reports go, Sykes is being described as a suburban Chicago woman who is now facing six to 30 years in prison, should she be convicted of the crimes accused of.

Sometimes the state has to come down on an offer if the victim doesn't want to cooperate. Or they'll do it specifically so the victim doesn't have to testify and relive the tragedy. There are a lot more moving pieces and considerations at play than just putting someone away forever.
