Not safe. Holiday gatherings are gonna spread omicron even faster than its already spreading.

This will be my first Christmas alone. How do I not be sad during it, CE?

Omicron is milder though?

It doesn't even feel like Christmas to me and plus I'm working Christmas this year

l may have had COVID last week. It also may have been a cold.

It sucked for a few days (I was coughing a lot and my chest hurt) but Im totally fine now

Im just saying it seems to be milder in terms of way less deaths.. Im vaccinated and mask up wherever I go and most should do the same.

Topics like this don't work. Because my online persona/=/my real-life self and you shouldn't assume anybody else's is either.

So you'll get plenty of agreeable faces in this topic saying "you're right" and "exactly". And then half those people will continue on with their plans regardless of what they've said agreeing with you. There's no way to verify the authenticity of anybody agreeing with you here.

With that said, you're absolutely right, and my friends and I (allegedly) already cancelled our friend group get-together on the 22nd. Doesn't help that we're in an epicenter of it all.

This is a good question. Vaccines werent even available to the under-65 crowd this time last year, so everyone should have been isolating then too. I wonder about these folks who get to pick and choose like this, must be nice to have that sort of privilege.

I mean that's roughly what I'm going on about. Last Christmas was 100% at home alone and a Zoom call with family members for me.

christmas with family. Its only my immediate family and I. Parents and 2 brothers, and we all got tested beforehand and isolated for 5 days before Christmas too

Also my dad woke up with symptoms this morning, so hes going to get tested. Greaaaat. Hes got type 2 diabetes and is terribly unhealthy. Easily the most at risk :/

There's no real evidence it's milder yet.

My wife's side of the family has an active covid case and they all live together. So we weren't going to see them anyway. My side of the family is 3 people and two of them are working that day. So Christmas is already pretty much canceled for me.
