Jake Gyllenhaal was originally suppose to replace Tobey Maguire in Spider-Man 2 when Tobey got a back injury. He would end up going on to play Mysterio, who revealed Peter's identity to the world and is indirectly responsible for the multiverse shenanigans in NWH, which would eventually lead to Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man coming to the MCU. --- I have nothing else to say ...
