I actually like the movie. The sets are incredible, the colors are beautiful. Feels almost like cyberpunk but for the 1950s, you might call the genre gas-punk/junkie something like that. I think some beatemup games took from the story and styling also, it was a popular movie in Japan. But, the main characters aren't much to write home about, though the actors do good enough. It's a hard movie to complain about, the trailer isn't lying, but the plot is about as predictable as it comes and nothing much happens. I like it personally cause the style of the movie is so damn strong. It's on netflix. The trailer shows you what you'll get. The pacing is a little weird though. The same director did The Warriors, which really has a sense of urgency. This movie's plot warranted the same, but it doesn't have that. Still, it's only an hour twenty, something like that. So it's already over by the time you have to think about it's problems. Worth a watch ... Copied to Clipboard!
