to say the least normally his mother holds him in her arms and she rocks him as he falls asleep, and then he sleeps on top of her in our bed. i know its not SIDS safe but it was the only way to get him down and keep him asleep. but, hes getting older, and he is developmentally ready to sleep on his own. well, he has been for a while. we're using the Ferber Method. you put the kid down, let him cry, and check in on him in increasing intervals until you're at about 10 minutes apart. that way, the kid slowly learns that i gotta put myself to sleep, but mom and dad didn't abandon me. he cried for about an hour, fell asleep, then woke up and cried for almost 2 hours. now hes been fast asleep for a long time. our baby book says tomorrow will be better. still. never heard him cry like that before. it was so sad :( --- JISOO JISOO ... we did it. my son sleep through the night in his crib on his own! he woke up like 2-3 more times and cried, but he always settled down within maybe 20 minutes. i dunno what happened between 2am-5am because i fell asleep,but i had his monitor on right next to me and i didn't wake up. at 5am, i woke up and realized i forgot to change his room's smart bulb setting to automatically turn on at 5am so he was awake and looking around the room. i went in there to get him and he was all SMILES MY BOY!!! --- JISOO JISOO ...
