If it was broken all along and we were just hiding it all this time, then covid has taken a hammer to the facade that we've been living in our whole lives.

"Somehow," vaccines have become political and conspiracy theory morons are continuously making life worse for everyone else and I'm sick of it.

The US could have been past covid a long time ago, but morons refuse to follow any sort of safety guidelines because they can't stomach the idea of experiencing a minor inconvenience for the sake of other people.

Yet again, hospitals around the country are getting overrun with unvaccinated covid patients who don't give a fuck about anyone but themselves.

I'm tired of this shit. I'm tired of having to say no to family gatherings because of covid. I'm tired of having to take extra precautions any time I'm around other in public.

Over and over again, they say "my personal decision to not get vaccinated doesn't affect anyone else." But then when they get a severe case of covid, they clog up hospital systems and make it harder for other people to get the advanced care they need. When they die from those severe infections, their families say up gofundme accounts asking other people to pay for their funeral expenses and to help replace the lost income.

I'm sick of arguing with people about the basics of how vaccines work.

It just feels hopeless.

The US is about to have yet another spike and way too many people still don't give a shit even though over 800,000 people in the US alone have died from covid.

The whole world is getting raw dogged by covid and yet you truly believe that the US would have past covid if everyone took the vaccine? if donald trump had never been born, covid would probably be at least somewhat under control at this point

I never said it was a US only issue. I'm just specifying the US because that's where I live. If everyone got the vaccine and booster dose, the overwhelming vast majority of covid cases would be mild. Our healthcare system wouldn't get overrun every 3 fucking months because of morons who don't have the capability to understand jack shit about how vaccines work or why vaccines are important.

yeah, the whole response to covid has really shown how broken society really is and how many people truly are truly arrogant, selfish and uncaring about anyone besides themselves. even to the point of detriment to themselves, when they inevitably get covid and die from it. but hey, at least they died with their FREEDUMB!

We could be at 90% herd immunity and another mutation from a low vaccination rate country appears as the dominate strain and it's vaccine resistant and we are back to square one.
This is the new normal at least for the time being.

Yet somehow polio is now isolated to just a couple countries in the world today that generally don't get vaccinated against it.

I find it best to think of other people as natural disasters and try to protect myself or get the fuck out of their way, because that's really all I can do. I drove myself to a really dark place trying it any other way.

This is where 'Murrica! fucked up. "Oh shit, lockdown" was somehow taken to mean "everyone all go to the airport at once!"

Covid has exposed who has the freedom in America and who doesn't.

The anti vax and anti mask people get their freedom. But if you want to live a lifestyle trying to minimize contact with them, you're not allowed. There is no support for you, the big companies are forcing people back to the office, you're not guaranteed a hospital bed when you need one because the morons got there first.

If you're trying to do the right thing in America you're a second class citizen.
