If he actually goes back to just doing jokes that are solely focused on being as funny as possible, I'm hella down. He's still a legend. But instead, they got actual ~12 year old girls and actually dressed them up in revealing clothing to do close-up shots of their anatomy through tight booty shorts. It tries to do the "show don't tell" method and from the subject manner it kind of backfired because of it. It doesn't flat out tell you that sexualizing little girls at these dance shows like this is bad, but tries to show you that it's bad and I think plenty of people (including me) have that very issue. I honestly think you could've gotten the same message across without having zoomed shots on actual 12 year old girls doing sexual poses and dance chereography. Either that or go with the other option and get older woman to portray that instead. I recognize that the French tackle movies differently than the US here, but when you release it at an International level you absolutely have to be wary and tactful. Plus the poster they released for the film and the description wasn't even close to portraying the actual movie and yet they only changed it after large backlash against it. I think Cuties is just a missed opportunity of a film.
