What I liked about Tobey in this movie was that he talks and acts just as super dopey and slowly as he did in his own movies.

Maybe that's why people thought he felt off compared to the other characters, because his movies were written and paced differently to the others, and they were trying to convey that.

This lol, Tobey Peter was very passive in his trilogy when he wasnt actively being Spider-Man.

Plus hes the oldest of the 3 Peters and therefore probably knows when to speak up and when to stay quiet. Notice how he didnt say anything when MCU Peter was trying to use the glider on Goblin

Garfield works better with the spider-verse being a thing because it is like 'oh look there exists a universe where Spider-man is the cool kid.' Instead of just a movie series where you got the wrong guy for Peter Parker.

Meanwhile you got Tobey's Peter Parker who just fades into the background until he is Spider-man. Which doesn't work as well in the Spider-verse but is more accurate to Peter Parker.

Why isn't Andrew Garfield in more movies? I haven't even heard of anything he's done since Spiderman.

It's not his fault his Spider-Man was too quiet. So now it feels weird that he's actually talking like Spider-Man.
