You need to prepare yourself for the red wave that's coming. I don't like it either, but you're delusional if you think the Dems are positioned well for the coming election.

I dont think that. I think both parties are dinosaurs and need to be replaced with parties that represent modern ideals

Which brings us right back to Kang and Kodos laughing at the idea that someone might consider voting for a third party.

The biggest selling point of the Libertarians has been gobbled up by the GQP and the Green Party is too invested in the healing power of crystals to be taken as a serious mainstream party.

The Democratic party does not have the ability to be ruthless and is going to lose the midterms as a result, then Donald Trump wins the Republican nomination again, wins the 2024 election, (because republicans have made it illegal for democrats to vote, while giving themselves to overturn the results they don't like) and becomes president at noon on January 20th, 2025.

The first thing Joe needed to do was electoral reform, even if a bill gets passed next near it will be to late for it to stop the coming midterm bloodbath.

Im proud to say that I voted for a third party for the last two elections. I also made several topics encouraging others to vote 3rd party only to be met with great disdain by several others here. Looking back on those topics, someone even called all 3rd party candidates Jackwagons and whackadoos.

I agree, but they still stand a better chance in the midterms then any third party candidate, and are still the better option then the seditious Republicans.

You can push for a third party all you want, but the hyper polarization of American politics has no room for a third party; it will only split the vote in favour of Republicans.

This mentality is stupid as hell, parties don't "steal" votes from others. Did you ever stop to think that maybe people that vote for 3rd parties wouldn't vote Democrat regardless? Same goes for Republicans (I was told this a lot when I voted for Johnson/Jorgensen), a 3rd party vote is a vote against the 2 party system so it makes no sense that they're "stealing" votes from said parties.

Except that "us" is less than a million people. Even if everyone who feels the same way as you goes out and votes for the same candidate (which they won't) all you'll accomplish is giving the Republicans a win. And the Democrats won't learn their lesson.

What's hilarious is we have actually had viable 3rd parties in the past, but they are usually driven out and killed by either the Democrats or Republicans because they are a threat to that party.

So let's say a new 3rd party rises up and it tends to favor more Republican votes than Democrat. The Republicans have a duty to eliminate that party because even if it only gets say about 5% of the total vote that could kill their chances of beating the Democrats in many races.

The two parties have such a strong foothold that they can easily eliminate any upstart parties that they feel are a threat to their future winning.

The only 3rd party I've ever heavily supported is the now defunct Modern Whig Party. It's sadly not surprising that the party that based it's core values around independent thought, didn't garner the support of general population. People really seem to like the binary hive mind model.

It compares in the sense that it's a bunch of over inflated bullshit. The fact that that they keep calling it an "insurrection" is just ridiculous. It was a riot, plain and simple. People involved in an insurrection don't go in unarmed, then just go home after a couple of hours. I'll add not a single person has yet to be charged with sedition, which should be the obvious open and shut case if it was what they're portraying it as.

So building a gallows breaking into what should be one of the most secure buildings in the nation with flex cuffs to get prisoners to hang is a simple fuck up?

In the early 2000's the Republicans were really worried about a party that was rising, but they were able to slowly but surely erode that party. Can't recall the name of the party but they felt that a high % of the votes that party would get would be primary Republican voters.

Shit, a lot of times they just reform their own party to be more appealing to those that would vote that way, I have a buddy that is quite old and he really liked the 80's and 70's Republican platform and even before Trump came to power he felt his party was dead. Since he didn't have the Republican party he actually felt a part of anymore.

Yeah this.
Any 3rd party that could win enough swing votes that could have gone to the Democrats or Republicans will be killed. Dems and Reps would rather see the other party win an election over any third party.
