If places like factories burning up fuels is the main reason why global warming is accelerating and there's options to use solar power instead for the Earth's energy needs then why hasn't most of the world switched over to it yet? Shouldn't we prioritized this for the good of the planet?

If a problem gets fixed, it can no longer be used as a "you need to vote for us so we can fix this problem" matter.

The people that own the pollution producing companies have their hands in the pockets of most if not all legislators.

Because that would hurt profit margins and these people would beat their grandmothers to death with crowbars for a dime.

Oh boy another topic where people don't understand that profitability and affordability are basically the same thing.

I know CE has been on an anti-capitalism bend for a bit now but jeez guys.

Anyways, a lot of industries are converting to a percentage of solar and other renewables but it's a slow process. Also, solar is not as efficient as fossils fuels or as consistent. Obviously solar energy can only be harvested for a certain period of time during the day, then it has to be stored. Battery tech has hit a wall so the peaks and valleys of harvesting and storage present a problem.

4 years ago, we would need to cover the whole West Virginia with solar panels to cover the energy that USA use.
Then we need to fix the logistic to store the energy so it can be used even at night, produce and store more in case it is cloudy, , produce even more because we will lose some when we transport it in long distances, produce and store even more so it can be used under winter when we got less sun and a highet need of electricity, etc.
And then we got the fact that energy consumption have raised since then. And if we are switching to electric cars... even higher consumption.
