Well they made the room with his name, but made it inaccessible via normal gameplay. Literally the only way to get to the room is if you glitch yourself into it because the game treats it as a failsafe room when it doesn't know where to send Link. https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/zelda_gamepedia_en/images/e/ef/ALttP_Chris_Houlihan_Room.png In the GBA version, they completely removed his name from the room. Imagine being this kid from the 90s, stoked that he won the contest, but then he literally never gets his prize except as some unintentional obscure glitch.
