Slightly off-topic, but in RDR2 I swear they just flat out forgot to make it so your horse doesn't follow you while you're on a train. Every single time, without fail, as soon as the train gets out of town I can see my horse just running alongside it, even if I hitched it back at the train station. It's so dumb. And on multiple occasions it has been the direct cause of my horse dying

Yes. It bases it off the player, so they don't feel bad about being outsmarted by a horse so it dumbs down when needed.

I've shot so many horses in anger over their bullshit in that game. I'm a little bummed you can't do it in 2 because they can act even stupider in it.

inb4 someone gets mad at me shooting at horses in games where you murder dozens and dozens of people and do all sorts of crimes.

I feel like that's just video game horses in general. My horse in RDR2 died in stupid ways so often.

And don't get me started on the horse in The Witcher 3. There were so many memes about him going the wrong direction lol.

This makes sense because I was able to get out of the hip-high paddock that I jumped into while my horse was not able to.

Btw, the motivation of making this topic was that I was doing the only timed challenge in the entire game which made the horse drop about 20 IQ points

And then I found out you can't actually do this challenge until the epilogue

The worst mechanic in this game is how many fucking missions are only started at certain times. It's so obnoxious having to save four times so you can continue the story.

It was annoying in GTA too, but there were far fewer of them. I'm pretty sure every single mission in the second half of the game is time-gated. Hopefully RDR2 just does what GTAV does and advances the time to what they want it to be.

The game discourages it a bit. You lose honor if you kill an owned horse and the pelts and meat only sell for like $2.

I tried to play RDR2 but I failed the mission where you have to hunt two deer because when I was going back to camp my horse did a hard 90 degree turn straight into the other guy's horse and him and the deer went flying. and then he just stood there in a river and I couldn't finish the mission >_>

This game actually has a consistent and annoying glitch where if you lasso someone, they just stay on the ground and refuse to get up. You can't hogtie them, so your only option is to kill them. Luckily it only really comes up when you're doing a bounty and is typically pretty easy to avoid.
