Yeah, I think it was my first Spider-Man exposure aside from the 90s Animated Series. The final boss actually frightened me as a kid.

I had it on the N64 and I loved it. I've played through and beaten it an unholy amount time.

Had it on Playstation. Really underrated classic.

I loved it so much. I replayed it so many times, trying to unlock all the alternate costumes and the comic cover gallery.

Yup. Loved it. Beat it and number 2 over and over on weekend just swapping back and forth after beating one. Those were the good days.

Game was awesome.

I always played on What If mode for both 1 and 2.

I had a friend that had the game on PC. We would talk about it a lot, and he told me the Lizard was in the game once. I've beaten the game multiple times and never once saw him, but he swears it's true and the he's in the sewer level.
Over the weekend, we called each other and played the game at the same time. He was guiding me on where to find the Lizard. We get to the same spot and I don't see him. But my friend tells me that he can see the Lizard on his screen. I tried using the difficulty, and turning my N64 off and on. So I gave up and just concluded that he was fucking with me and got me good.

Years upon years later, I was in middle school and YouTube started becoming a thing. I saw someone putting up videos of the game, and it reminded me of my friend, so I searched for the Lizard and, holy shit, he was telling truth.
That was the moment I realized that consoles and PCs are made different...
That and the fact that the PS1 and PC vesions had actual cutscenes. Meanwhile, on the N64, we had literal slideshows. Wtf.

No, back then I never knew most PS1 games existed due to being so young the only gaming magazine I read was Nintendo Power. Nintendo truly is for kids. :-) I like this Spidey game now though

That chase sequence at the end kinda scarred me.

Other wise it was my introduction to Spiderman and Venom

I've played the PS1 version. It's a great game, I've been wanting to get the Dreamcast version for awhile now, but it is way too expensive!

The demo was dope I got it from Pizza Hut

It was the Arkham Asylum of its day. Seriously it was incredibly well received and good for the time. So much love and fan service put into the game. Crazy to think Neversoft was such a powerhouse at the time.

Haha wow. I think the easter egg was on the PS1 version as well right? I seem to recall him popping up in the sewer level as an easter egg and I never played it on PC.

The first time I ever played an Xbox was that game on a demo kiosk in K-Mart. It was also pretty great for the time. Got overshadowed by the sequel rather quickly though.

Yeah I remember making Spidey face a wall, spamming some button, then hitting the web button to make it look like he was jackin it. Friends and I thought it was hilarious.

18 years later it was one of the first things I did in the new Spidey game. Still hilarious.

i was never interested in any superhero game just because i cant accept that i could fail a mission from a random schmuck punching/shooting at me

Lol I love this, the realization that so many of our N64 games, if we even got a multiplatform version, were severely gimped and nerfed. People say it was due to the cart not being able to hold nearly the amount of data that CDs can

Yeah, it was great. Spider-Man 2 the movie for PS2 was also awesome.

Brilliant game, as was Enter Electro.

The poker scene at the end was epic

Not sure if it would hold up, but this game is one of my most fondly remembered. I rented it from Blockbuster, got to the chase sequence and had to return it, bought it later that week to keep playing. Didn't know that was the end. Still not mad that I bought it, played it all winter
