canada too. most firms "force" you to use your government-mandated holidays over xmas. oh, they give you 14 days (they'd give you zero if the government didn't legislate 14 lmao), but don't you DARE take a day or two at a time. They don't like that. It's not "being a team player".

when i requested to work xmas, knowing the double-time-and-a-half rules that our government had to legislate because you fuckin know private industry wouldnt do that, i was denied

because the owner needed that down payment for his 3rd porsche. cant be payin people 50 bucks an hour!

I usually get two to two-and-a-half weeks off.

This year, though, I've taken two weeks now for a trip to Tenerife (my last day in the office was the 3rd, not back in until the 20th) so I have to do a few days between Christmas and New Year (off the 24th-28th, in 29th, 30th and 31st, off the 1st til the 3rd, back to normal on the 4th).

While I usually like having a huge chunk of time over Christmas, I actually don't mind being in for those three days tbh - I won't have any work to do, so it will just be a case of hanging out in the canteen, posting on GameFAQs, and being available on the off chance that someone needs me. And at the end of the day, I'm still only in for ten days in all of December, haha.

i requested 2 weeks off and got it approved \o/

I missed the poll, but I get from the 23rd of December through to January 9th off.
