He's a;ready had multiple scandals, but the biggest is for how he forced Uma Thurman to drive super fast on an old gravel road to get those cool black and white credits shots in Kill Bill. She crashed the car and sufferd injuries she still deals with today. He was in the news for it about two years ago.

And then he made comments about the 13 year old Roman Polanski was with, saying "She wanted it". He apologized after being called out later and everyone just accepted his apology and moved on.

So it's not that he hasn't been, but has much more resistance to it than most apparently. I love Tarantino movies, but yeah, I wouldn't be surprised to hear worse stories.

Luc Besson is a bit of a nonce. Even film critics Siskel and Ebert pointed it out when they reviewed "The Professional".

I think Tim Burton has a thing for undead girls.

There were attractive ghost/zombie/Frankenstein monster girls in The Corpse Bride, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Beetlejuice. (In addition to the beauty pageant winner, his girlfriend had a cameo in that one as the magician's assistant who had been sawed in half.) Even his version of Catwoman from Batman Returns was technically undead. Her skin went pale when she came back from her fall.

I read the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood book, and the idolization of Polanski was super uncomfortable to get through. At least he was barely there in the movie, the book has whole Polanski chapters.

I'm very familiar with it, but Polanski worship is usually not very mainstream, since, while his films win awards, he's not exactly in the public eye due to the whole "I'll be thrown in prison for my disgusting crimes if I return to the states." Plus, public awareness and scrutiny of his actions even among Hollywood has shifted since the me too movement, and it was jarring to read the Polanski worship in a book that released years after that.

You've got to understand that the Polanski situation is a lot like Woody Allen's in that since Me Too people are coming out of the woodworks to condemn him, condemn awards shows that honor him, and express regret over working with him.
