Amazon won't just refund me the difference, so I have to return what I have and buy it again. Oh well.

I fell for the mesh WiFi meme and spent way too much money before realizing buying a repeater/extender from my ISP was the simplest and best option.

It's silly to expect a refund if the price changes.

Some ISPs charge a monthly fee for wifi, and their routers don't do wifi6 just yet.

It costs Amazon more money to ship another product than just refund the difference.

Also, wifi extenders often have a sizeable dropoff in connection speed when connecting through the extender. Mesh wifi handles that much better.

In my experience it's pretty standard for stores to do that as long as you have a receipt and the purchase was made within a certain amount of time from when the discount started

That sucks, maybe try contacting them again and hope to get a better agent that's willing to give you the price correction.

Even though Amazon's policy doesn't really do price protection, I've been successful the times I've asked them to do so.

This just literally happened to me with a robot vacuum.

It was $279 and Amazon offered a $60 coupon. I bought it.

A couple weeks later it was $279 and Amazon offered a $90 coupon. I haven't opened mine yet, so I asked if they could refund me the difference. They said no and literally told me the only way is to buy it again and return the original.

Very annoying, but worth the short trip to Kohl's to return to save $30.

Yeah, I asked them and they said I'd just have to return it and buy it again. No big deal, though. It only takes a few minutes to set up.

Interesting. I guess they've made them better than the last time I messed around with one years ago. Does the extender also use the same SSID to extend coverage?

Mesh wifi isn't a meme, it's actively a better way to extend wifi than a repeater.

I wonder if I could get away with just shipping the new delivery back if it's the exact same thing.
