It preferred it to the battle rifle, honestly.

And to replace it with something as shitty as the commando rifle. Shameful.

DMR sucks. It wasnt replaced by the commando rifle.

DMR was just too good to be fun.
Once I learned how to kill reliably (which took maybe an hour of practice) so many other guns just become obsolete. Halo 4 had the carbine, battle rifle, the promethean rifle, and all of those were useless compared to the DMR.
And its range was way too good. One of Halo 4's worst ideas was to keep map sizes relatively the same (and even bring back older maps like Valhalla) while the DMR just made 90% of the map impossible to traverse because you became an easy target with the DMR's unreal range.

I didn't play Halo 5 but I'm so glad they removed it for infinite.

I guess thats fair. Im fine with OP weapons generally. Im probably one of the few people who misses the plasma pistol+BR combo.

It's not like that combo stopped existing. Since they removed the Plasma Pistol's EMP, that's pretty much the only way you're gonna get any use out of it.

The only precision weapon I miss is the Carbine, but even that doesn't really have a place in the weapon sandbox anymore.

By Plasma Pistol EMP are yall referring to the full charged shots? I havent used it much in Infinite but Im pretty sure the Plasma Pistol still does that.

Don't know why they can't have the BR, DMR Carbine, Needle Rifle, Hardlight Gun and New Infinite vRifle in a single game. They could all fill a niche

The Plasma Pistol used to disable vehicles with the charged shot. No longer the case in Halo Infinite. It's now unique to Shock weapons.
