Minimalism is about being intentional with the things you own so that they all serve a clear purpose. That way you can focus your time and energy on experiences and relationships and not objects

How does everything having a purpose make it easier to focus on relationships?

I misread your post... But I still think it's not quite right. You can choose to ignore a useless object but if everything you own had a purpose for you then you're still just living for other stuff. I don't see how one leads to the other

It's about not placing value on things. You have the pants for their purpose, not because it's fun to have green pants

Pretty basic ideas covered in Buddhism, taoism, monastic traditions...

Imagine you had no belongings. Your entire life would be about more real things than objects

Hmm. I guess someone might be more classist if there wasn't an aura of some object obscuring the real element of analysis

Price has nothing to do with minimalism. In fact, when minimalist its better to buy more expensive/quality stuff and less of it. Also I never claimed to be a minimalist ITT lmao

Lately Ive been coming around to the idea of minimalism. Like I still enjoy buying clothes and whatnot, but now Im only looking for practical uses instead of just what looks good.

I have a rule that helps me: if I forgot I had it, I get rid of it. If I haven't used it in a year, I get rid of it.

Feels surprisingly good once it's gone

Less time on clutter, more on doing things.
