I started up Ender Lilies. I like the combat abilities being stands pretty much, and it's a bit refreshing to play something slower paced. I had already listened to its whole soundtrack a while back, so I was disappointed when the first boss didn't last long enough for me to enjoy the song <_<

really liking Ender Lilliescombat is great, progression is great, lots of options and ways to travel. Main issue is that it doesnt do a great job leading you in the next direction. I feel like every new upgrade just leads to me wandering aimlessly for an hour before stumbling on the next wat

I'll chime in to recommend Rabi-Ribi. Ridiculously non-linear, tons of movement tech options, items can be obtained in tons of orders or skipped entirely (0% is possible and that includes everything up to the primary attack button), and the game is just massive, with areas linking in multiple ways so you can traverse the world in all sorts of different orders.

The downsides are the aesthetic (if you don't want a bunch of anime girls) and a bit of a rough edge to the non-boss enemy designs. Also, the true story conclusion (chapters 9 and 10) is DLC on PC, though it's included on console. On the other hand, the PC version is currently the only one with the second large DLC pack that includes four bonus superbosses and the second playable character (who has a completely different moveset for both attacking and movement).

A defining feature is that the bosses are bullet hells and generally take about 3-5 minutes to kill, with the late story bosses taking 10 to 20 minutes instead for really epic fights.

I'll probably give Rabi-Ribi a try at some point. I've never played that or the Touhou one in terms of "anime" Metroidvania games. Getting back to my Ender Lilies progress I just got the air dash today.

Yesterdays patch in Aeterna Noctis fixed a sidequest that was bugged for some people(not me thankfully <_<), but the fix apparently keeps giving out the award so a few people keep getting a bunch of gold. In unrelated news I got Ending A and B in Ender Lilies yesterday.

I enjoyed it a bunch. I wasn't sure on what to play after Aeterna Noctis but I still had a Metroidvania itch and assumed it would be easier than Blasphemous. I just got every achievement yesterday which wasn't too hard. Some of the jumps confused me so I had to get creative with the spirits that tackle and uppercut, since they basically acted as an extra dash/jump respectively. I wish the maps were more detailed than just rectangles, but at least the game tells you if you're missing something in an area.

I wanna do the boss rush but I left to get my Covid booster right after the last achievement, so I've been feeling bad since I woke up :/
