Lots of people say they are struggling with money but half the time. I dont think they even handle it properly

There was a lifeprotips reddit thread the other day along the lines of "If you're hurting for money, but rottiserie chicken, you can get a few meals out of it as $3 a meal! Much better than $10 a meal like you'd normally spend". Who's spending $10 on regular meals? Reminds me of the "don't get coffee at starbucks every day!" money saving tips.

Then again, I remember reading a thread of people who just casually eat out for lunch every day at work, spending $20-30 or so on their lunch. So maybe some people need to be told.

It was still a legitimate question because. why exactly would you choose to be tied up in debt and risk getting your credit ruined if you cant pay it back when you can borrow from family?

Yeah they will be mad but at least your credit wont be ruined

well they're pretty popular and American households have had record reserves of cash for over a year and a half now due to the pandemic + stimulus

in fact, we are spending so much on services and products that it's one of the major reasons for the supply chain struggles even though the ports themselves are recovering already. we have lots of cash and pent up demand and consumers are spending accordingly
