When I fly to Thailand I use comfort + or whatever the next few upgrades on various airlines call it. A 22 hour flight is NOT fun flying economy.

even if i was moderately rich i still wouldnt. the price isn't worth it

i got gifted first class once on an American flight, but it wasn't a big 737/747/etc so the first class was pretty modest at best. free booze and extra legroom is nice, but man it is just impossible to sleep on those chairs.

Yrah I used to buy economy because I figured why pay more. But I ember a few years back flying to visit my family in Hawaii and thinking this is fucking awful I rather pay more to hate this less

Business class a d first class only ever since I experienced it as a young child. I will never go back to coach, being cramped in those tiny seats is just some bullshit.

It's worth it. Those 8 hour fights to Italy in coach were horrible as a kid I don't even want to imagine it as an adult.

back when i was CreditMonk, i saved up enough points for my wife and i to fly business class from the west coast of the US to South Korea. a 14 hour flight, on Asiana airlines.

it was really a once in a life time experience, unless somehow i get rich again.

the seats were big and wide and could fold down into a bed. they were in little pods for privacy too. the food was restaurant quality, and you could ask for as many snacks as you wanted. sandwiches, ramen, fruit, etc.

but the best part was the airport lounge you can stay at as part of the package. we flew from LAX, and since Asiana is part of Star Alliance, we could go to the Star Alliance Lounge there. free liquor, free restaurant quality food, nice spaces, tvs, etc. it as awesome.

anyway if we had to pay cash, i think it would have cost us 20,000 dollars lmao so uh. yeah.

The last time I flew, it was first class because I didn't buy my own ticket. Honestly, it's not worth it at least for me. I don't think I'd ever buy my own first class ticket. The seating isn't THAT much better. And everything else basically felt the same.

Edit: Oh I guess you do get a few free bag checks. But I mean the cost overall would be lower with doing economy + paying for bag checks.

This, long flights in economy is suffering. Honestly it's worth it for any flight imo but for long flights it's especially worth it

I think the best examples are coast to coast flights, and international flights to highlight how much better business and first class are compared to coach.
