Yes, because that worked so well when people tried to boycott the Russian Olympics over civil rights issues.

For that matter, the US and USSR outright boycotting each other in 1980 and 1984 didn't accomplish much either.

Didn't Communism pretty much end a few years later with the dissolution of USSR (it's just Russia now rite?)
