You've got a ticket that's good for either one of two movies. The first movie has a really interesting story, one that'll be fascinating to dissect and talk about, but the movie itself is poorly paced, awkwardly directed, miscast, and just janky all around.

The second movie has an incredibly simplistic, almost boring story that doesn't have anything interesting to say. But the production values are top-notch, the cast is disproportionately talented compared to the caliber of the script, and the scenes are beautiful to look at.

Which one do you go see?

Poor story told well. A bad script can be made into an amazing movie

I was gonna say a good story told poorly, but then I remembered I hate Dark Souls and Bloodborne storytelling.
Definitely a poor story told well for me.

Is this a stealth DCEU vs MCU topic?

If DC movies had interesting stories, it would be. >_>

Honestly Marvel's movies aren't necessarily uninteresting, but unless you're invested in its meta narrative, they don't benefit from being watched in bulk. It's sort of like the band Foreigner. You hear like, two songs and you're familiar with their entire discography.

Dark souls and bloodborne don't have poor storytelling. You probably weren't paying attention and expecting it to get spoonfed to you like in normal games.

As for my answer, it really depends on the movie.
