I was reading a comment chain on a YouTube video about DDI games (specifically, of their cheap, copypasta shovelware Ninjabread Man/Anubis II/etc.), and one comment mentioned games being sold at a local gas station, and another comment was bewildered that such a thing happened.

It reminded me that, years ago, I did once see Wii games being sold at a gas station near my house. But they were cheap, shovelware Wii games, not anything significant. And I'm guessing those games still sold somewhat well there anyway.

No. Weirdest place Ive seen video games sold is Kohls. Clothing store for those who dont know.

I do remember seeing shovelware Wii and PC games being sold at dollar stores though.

Not that I recall.

Then again, I rarely go inside at gas stations. I just pay at the pump, fill up my car and leave.

Yup. Back in 2017 I bought 15 sealed copies of Eternal Darkness for 10 bucks each at a kohls.

When I worked at a gas station several years ago they put out a display with shovelware games during the holidays. It wasn't really a year round thing though.

Yea they have always been there, you just arn't looking for them. Try Love's, Shells, Bucky's, Circle K's, etc.
