generously surprised? A cousin of mines came out as gay and my first thought was "why the fuck did it take you so long?" He was the second person in my life who did so and in both cases it was pretty obvious that they're gay a long time ago. So I'm wondering if anyone here as actually experienced someone who came out as gay where it was a complete surprise to you?
I don't know many people in my life so I could be extremely wrong here but it feels like a majority of these cases, it's obvious to everyone a long time ago that the person is gay. A cousin came out as gay and seriously, Stevie Wonder could have seen that he was gay. As kids, it was always obvious. Not a controversial issue for me but for him maybe it was. He grew up in a small town in the Midwest so it may have been difficult to do for him.
On the other hand a guy I went to HS with came out and I was completely surprised. He dated a lot of girls and was a "goody two shoes" in HS. Now he's married to another man. --- Newsom 2022 ... Copied to Clipboard!

You know I never really thought of it until now, but Ive never known anyone who has come out, so to speak. Anyone who I know who is gay already identified as such before Ive known them.

Yeah my friend in college was a total womanizer alpha male cool guy, new girl every week

My sister because she had two boyfriends prior to eventually getting married to her current wife. Her wife had prior boyfriends too. I thought they were just BFFs, and one day she just told me that they got together while they were roommates in college. Then they got married.

Gay dude at work who kept it to himself except for the ones closest to him. One day Im walking by and he asks, Whats up? I look at him with real seriousness, clap my hand down on his desk, and say, Ill tell you whats up. The gays! He looked at me stunned for a half second and then just lost it. He knew me well enough to know Im all about love, so he laughed from the gut. Later that day he says, Im gay with a smile, then I lost it.
