How could people be this fucking stupid.

you come in for chest pain wanting to be admitted. The hospital is fucking crowded

She happens to get very lucky and gets a MEDICINE SINGLE bed room at the surgical building usually for SURGICAL patients which look like a hotel.

and she has the fucking attitude to cause trouble, screaming at nurses saying she wants a 4 patient room because the room is too quiet. Wants to move back to the ED waiting area because there are people around

she also threatening to sign out against medical advice and leave the hospital after I did the admission.

get the fuck out and never come back. fucking idiots

Working with the general public at all is a sure fire way to lose faith in humanity, as well as your own.

I say that as someone who worked at a grocery store for a very long time and has moved onto working in the HVAC field.

This. Everyone has problems and not everyone deals with them in the same way, and the point of society is to minimize the difficulties caused by these problems, but it cuts both ways.

I have worked a service job, with the mentally ill (still do), and the prison system.

I have literally seen the worst humanity has to offer, short of war. And I still stand by my statements. Just because there is a bad out there doesn't mean you should give up on the good.

The problem with your logic is you've seen the worst people have to offer. And the courts proved it. That's a hell of a lot different than working in retail and seeing otherwise polite, friendly people act like fucking assholes because we were out of the exact thing you wanted, or never sold it in the first place, or demanding a deal for a damaged box when everyone knows the contents are in all likely hood perfectly fine because there's 6 inches of Styrofoam around the damn product.

Losing faith in humanity in these sorts of industries isn't a sprint, it's a marathon. It eventually beats you down enough you expect the worst from everyone.
