It isn't normal for games to still be unplayable over 2 days after its release. Only one I have seen this bad is WoW's expansion WoD.

Queue is over 9000, takes 8 hours to get to the front. Then it disconnects you and you go back to over 9000.

From what I've heard, it's this bad whenever a new 14 expansion drops. But this is the highest amount of players the game's ever had, so that be contributing to it.

yeah i gave up. i read on their subreddit people waiting 2-3 hours to go from 8000 to 3000 only to get disconnected and punted to the back of the line.

guess ill try tomorrow morning.

FFXIV was hitting highest all-time players marks during the usual dead time of the last expansion due to streamers/celebrities bringing their followings plus former WoW players. And considering the servers could barley handle the previous expansions, the writing was on the wall for this to be a serious problem when Endwalker hit. Yet they did nothing about it and here we are. Could be a week or more for most people to be able to log on.

I read they said they tried to increase the caps but they couldn't add more servers in time because of the shortage on superconductors or something.

Yeah, I think all they implemented is that "if you're idle for 30 minutes you get booted" thing, but that was about it.

Shadowbringers had a queue but it was nothing like this. I can only play Endwalker in the early morning or late at night

The issue is with NA servers. Maybe EU too? But the JP ones are completely fine.

I'm on Diabolos. It was pretty dead from when I started playing 2 weeks ago. It usually had a queue of like 30 or 40 people but Endwalker's made it jump up to 4000+
