I thought the end event was pretty mid, especially after the bonkers event last season. Overall the chapter was really mid with only small map changes and nothing really interesting happening in the story at a consistent enough pace.

The Rock was cool though.

I wanna like fortnite but I can't stand how much of an advert it's turned into with all these different characters from differnt things.

Same. The game has no identity beyond licensed skins to gamble for. Hell, I remember when it was also about building forts in the day to survive the zombies at night. Glad I never bought it then for fear of having nobody to play it with, clearly that never went anywhere.

There is literally no gambling in this game and Fortnite is pretty much the most generous game-as-a-service when it comes to leveling and giving you credits to buy stuff?

Yeah, as much as I like Apex, Fortnite always felt more generous.

Last time I played Fortnite, it played some cinematic scene and dropped me straight into a game. I'm going to assume it was with mostly new people, since it'd been months, if not a year since I'd last played and I won the game. It was sometime after they changed the game to chapter 2. I much prefer Apex though, just wish they'd give us a permanent solos mode, but I doubt we'll ever get one.
