Peter and Harry teaming up on the hovercraft to save Mary Jane is genuinely awesome. Peter's dealings with Harry are a big part of how he learns that his Venom persona is so dangerous. The director hated Venom, didn't know what to do with him, and had to be forced to add him in the movie It's literally what killed the franchise.
