I don't mean older employees

I mean the boomer hiring managers/CEOs/etc.,

They're stuck in the past and insist on these archaic hiring practices

How many "Boomers" are there still in the workforce?

Boomers are people born between 1945-55.

That would make most Boomers in their late 60's- mid 70's

If I'm still working at 67, something went horribly wrong in my life.

They're not necessarily "working", but many of them still have a great deal of input in how companies are run

Pretty sure most places have moved on to the new style of hiring at this point.

Have an algorithm dumpster 90% of the applications

Then Google search the remaining 10% and call those with the best social media pages in for an interview.

For real.

I have an odd suspicion that TC is just upset he can't get a job after countless HR Departments deem them un-hirable based on the social media presence.

Well for starters, an unwillingness to streamline the application process to make it quick and painless for the applicant (i.e., uploading a resume, only to have to spend another 15 minutes filling out a form with the exact same information present on the resume)

Pointless personality tests that everybody bullshits their way through and have been shown to be racist/ableist/sexist/etc.,

Drug tests

Just to name a few

You do know those are all personality test to see how complaint you're willing to be to get the job.

The redundancy of the Resume/Application process is part of the test.

The fact that you complain about it is a failure on your part.

I seriously doubt it's 70-somethings creating the random bullshit job qualifications where a janitor needs a college degree, and a software developer needs five years experience in a platform that's existed for two.

There's no consensus but it's more like 1946-1964. Generation demographics are usually grouped in 15+ year ranges. So we're mostly talking about people around 60. There's plenty of them still in the workforce.

They're ineffective (since they only do a good job at detecting specifically marijuana usage), expensive, an invasion of privacy and it arbitrarily disqualifies good candidates.

It's also possible for a non-user to be disqualified based on a false positive.

That's a whole nother issue entirely. That usually boils down to incompetent/unknowledgeable HR.
