Genuine question: Why doesn't everyone 100% a game? Why would you buy a game and NOT do and get absolutely everything in it, getting your full money's worth?

Ill decide when I get my moneys worth and fulfilment out of a game. I dont need some arbitrary metric to strive for. Some games I dont even finish the main story and Im at peace with that.

It is not worth doing EVERYTHING in AC Valhalla.

That would not be getting my money's worth. It would be money spent to waste time.

When a game stops being enjoyable to you, it's ok to stop and move on.

Some of the things to 100% a game are tedious and not everyone finds the same enjoyment out of doing every single little thing.

If 100%-ing a game is detrimental to my enjoyment, I will cut my "losses", though ultimately it's up to you whether your personal enjoyment was worth the price you paid.

For me, there's just a certain sense of satisfaction when I beat a game and completely every side mission and get every collectible.

I hope no one has to ever 100% KH BBS.

Because time also has value, and spending it playing a game you no longer enjoy, or competing menial tasks that arent enjoyable in a game you otherwise enjoyed, is more wasteful than not getting your full moneys worth out of the game.

Because there are other things in life (and other games) worth my time more than getting the last trophy, or go through a multipath game and see all 100 paths and every variation.

This is like eating every crumb in a bag of food, or every apple core.

And id argue games on sale for $20 or lower if you even have fun for 10 hours it was worth it.

Hell if its a fun 7.5 hours its still worth it.

I usually get through the cool stuff with interesting rewards, then shelve a game when all that's left is to go collect 150 feathers across a 5 mile world map or some ridiculous shit like that.

The only open-world game of that type I got a Platinum trophy for was Spider-Man (PS4), and that one didn't make you get 100% of everything, just a large portion of it all.

You usually speedrun games you've beaten multiple times.

I haven't beaten many games once, let alone enough times to speedrun them.

Pointless achievements like "do this one technique 7500 times despite it really not being particularly useful."
Multiplayer grindy achievements.
Inconsequential in-game rewards (literal golden pile of shit being the most apt example that will ever exist).
Poor balance between the main story and side things (like Ubisoft's one billion collectables).
Challenges are too niche like speedrunning or too pointlessly difficult like in-game no death challenges.

have you ever tried to 100 percent Binding of Isaac or Baten Kaitos for the Gamecube? BK takes over 100 hours to 100 percent as some things are time locked. Isaac takes many many runs and luck to unlock everything.
