It was for a Chinese or Russian airline it sounds like.

Good for him.

This wasn't about refusing to do a commercial for Delta or American Airlines. It was a human rights issue.

When you're that rich, it's a luxury to be able to pass up that kind of money for your own personal values

Yeah, the goal of being a famous actor is to no longer have to take every role that comes your way. That's why Nicolas Cage is such a mystery; he was in banger after banger for a while, making bank, and he still seemed to take every script that flopped onto his desk in an anonymous brown paper sack.

Imagine talking about a $35 million paycheck with your wife and coming to the conclusion that it just isn't worth it.

It's not a mystery. Nic Cage was in so much debt he literally couldn't refuse work.

Lol I never knew that, actually. It always baffles me how people making millions of dollars a year can be in debt. Like what the fuck are they spending millions of dollars on? Gambling, I suppose? That's the only thing that even crosses my mind to possibly cost that much.

I know he bought a several million dollar property in Sedona, AZ and built a huge house on it. Then proceeded to stay in maybe a few times. My aunt and uncle live close to said property year round and never say him but once. It has a differ owner now

As a person with a limited income, I literally can't even imagine a way to spend $10 million in a year without literally dumping $8 million of it into something nobody should ever spend money on.

The dude is rich as fuck. $35 million isn't going to make enough of a difference to his daily life for him to do things he doesn't believe in. Respect to him for not just showing up for everyone who wants him to sell shit.
