Did anyone test them with old consoles like the 360 or PS3? Will it make the gameplay smooth?

Old consoles output at 60Hz for NA/Japan.

You would have to use an emulator, but the problem is the games were programmed to run mostly around 20-24 fps anyway.

that said, eventually emulation will make PS3 and 360 games much smoother (and higher res polygons) than the original hardware.

Ok, well the tv is defaulted to run at 144hz all the time and everytime is what I was told, it doesnt have the feature to run 60hz at all, so does that mean it wont work? And all I will see is black screen?

back when I cared about maintaining around 120+ fps in games @ 1440p, I remember going down to 60 fps on my monitor for a bit of comparison and thinking that it looked really choppy. i imagine that 30 fps and below would just look terrible. monitors can't really help with that

im not like this anymore and just play at 4k 60 fps on a television

I've never heard of a TV / monitor that is unable to run at a lower refresh rate than the intended one. I especially doubt that'd happen for something as common as 60Hz; perhaps being unable to receive, say, 75Hz would be more understandable.

It should also automatically adjust for the incoming signal, you shouldn't need to do anything.

Most games from the PS3 era max out at around 30fps, so anything higher than 30Hz won't make a difference. There's some that might go to 60fps; I don't think anything on console went higher than that though could be wrong.

oh actually i did run shadow of tomb raider at max settings 4k with rtx and no dlss and maxed out aa. ran at like 20-30 fps. that shit was choppy af on my monitor. so yeah a 144 hz monitor wont help with that. also g-sync/free-sync tends to deactivate at below 30 fps/hz iirc (tho older consoles don't have g-sync/free-sync).

It probably works just fine, but it's going to be outputting at 60Hz if it's from a PS3/360. You might not have an option to change it but I feel like it's going to just output at 120Hz and show every frame twice.

Thats what im curious, so does that mean it will run smoother but sort of like emulated?
