I just figured I'd point to early Southern musical artists as the inspiration for, well, modern music, but you could easily fast forward through the years up to today and come up with a huge list from various genres. Zebra, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Dickey Betts, Pantera, Mastodon, and of course Creedence.
