I just skipped doing that. I knew I wasnt gonna use the weapon anyway, and the run back was really grating on me.

the knockback from the weapon's R2 works as long as you have the strength to use the weapon. you don't need to have the int score.

(it's also a useful knockback -- let's say you kick some afk host into a corner accidentally so you can't keep kicking them to where you want to leave them. if you fire it at the wall behind them, bam, you can start moving them again)

I didn't have any problems with it on builds that don't use the MLGS. Trying to get it on an actual INT build though was among the most frustrating things in the game.

If it's the stunning by breaking the crystal, then I know it. I just can't run to the tail in time.

I've tried with my +15 Claymore and my +14 Balder Sword and I just cannot cut that thing off before he starts spamming his curse attack or his tail whips.

And I'm cursed so a single tail whip will kill me.

But I only have one purging stone. I don't want to waste it because if I fail because I'm trying to cut off the tail, I'm stuck at killing him cursed or doing Duke's Archives again after warping out to buy a purging stone

actually, googling tells me it might not work, so give it a shot if you want: the ring that makes you all quiet hides you from him. i use it every time and i always get the tail. maybe i just never needed it???

Be at medium distance -> He does the move where he levitates and flies at you -> dodge to the side then back so you're under his tail -> he does a big slow tail slam that gives you two or three free hits. Honestly not that bad.
Can't tell if TC is on his first playthrough so spoiler maybe.

You scruby scrub. I can think of 2 dlc bosses alone that are more difficult.
