I always thought it was interesting that both voyager satellites have that gold time capsule disc thing, as if aliens from other planets are going to have a record player or something that's going to be able to read the desk.

Pretty sure they also have some sort of plaque or engraving that indicates how to read the information on the disc.

But these are aliens, they're not going to understand instructions. They're not going to know what a "second" is, or a "record". Their world is probably completely different, where all logic is different.

that's assuming their planet is similar to ours. their world might be completely different. language might not even exist. reading and writing may not exist. communication might not be a thing either, or if it is, it might be completely different. they might be smarter, but they may have a completely different toolkit from us.
